  1. When I worked in trade publishing, book “trailers” were just becoming a new way to (virally) market books. A couple of the books I worked on ended up getting the trailer treatment, and it’s definitely a cool way to promote books – if they’re done well. There are commercials for everything else; why not books? I do think that these productions are still works in progress, though – some trailers cleverly find a way to bring the book to life; some are just awful. It will be exciting to see where this sort of marketing trend leads.

    • I agree that it will be exciting to see where the trend of book commercials go. Thank you for sharing your experience it’s very interesting. Does the author decide if the book has a commercial? Or is that up to the publisher?
