Learning through Practice

It’s interesting to me how much I have learned without even realizing it. Today the Oral History class, which is a mixed program class (Library Science and History), had an introduction to research class. A visitor to the class instructed us on how to do research for Oral History. While there were a few tips that I found valuable, most of the information was stuff that I had learned by myself in previous semesters through trial and error.

I didn’t realize how much I learned through practice. Maybe that is why research assignments are so common in the Library program. To give us a chance to learn what works best for us.
