The June Oven

As I said in my last post, our normal oven has been on the fritz for a while now and we have been really frustrated with it. We had a tech out but they said we would need to replace the entire double oven, which we decided against doing right now. Instead, N decided to buy the countertop June oven.

The June is a super cool smart oven, with an internal camera, a food probe, food recognition software, Wi-Fi connection, a digital cookbook that instructs on tons of recipes step by step, a fully integrated app with tons of cool features, as well as tons of preset food programs. It fits on the countertop and weighs 50 pounds so it is movable if necessary. The oven has so many different features from Baking, Reheating, Roasting, Broiling, Cooking, to others like being able to replace your Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Airfryer, and more. Cook’s Illustrated and Forbes both gave in depth reviews about all of the features and how well the June works.

We ordered it four months ago in December. But it took us a long time to receive our June as it was backordered due to major orders over the holidays and they only started sending out the newest batch the first week of February. Ours was shipped out on Friday, February 18 and was supposed to arrive on Thursday the 14th. Instead our tracking updated to say it would arrive Friday, then Saturday, then Sunday, then Monday.

On Monday, when we saw that the tracking had been updated to say the June was on the truck on it’s way to us, we were so excited! However, we were soon disappointed when it updated to show that it was undeliverable for some reason. We called Fedex to find out why and were told that they couldn’t deliver it as for place of business was closed due to President’s Day. We told them that we are a residential address and not a business so that makes no sense and furthermore that we received the second package from June that we were expecting. They said they would try to contact the truck to reroute them and would call us back within 2 hours. After 2 and half hours with no return call, we called back and were told that the box had never been put on the truck in the first place and would be shipped out the next day or that we could go to the Fedex center to pick up our box if we wanted.

So N and I, considering everything that had gone wrong with Fedex shipping so far, did not trust that they would really deliver the June the next day. So we and our 3 year old A, drove 40 minutes away to the Fedex Ground center. We got there and waited for an hour and fifteen minutes while they looked for the box and told us that they couldn’t find it. After speaking to a manager, they looked again and were finally able to find it. We then drove the 40 minutes to get home. It was crazy and super aggravating. We are extremely disappointed with Fedex and how poor a job they did with our shipment!

The June is amazing. We are absolutely loving it and we have been cooking so many things with it in the past week since we got it. Just so you can see a few, in the first two days we did popcorn, broccoli, salmon, portobello mushrooms, toast, eggs and cod. We’ve been using the preset food cooking options with the food recognition for the vegetables, toast and fish and have been using the cookbook for the popcorn, and eggs. Everything has come out delicious and they are so easy and quick to make. It really has been such a pleasure cooking with the June so far and we are having so much fun!!
