Disney Wall

As you know, N and I love Disney. I have made us photo books from each of our trips to remember and enjoy, and we do. But I wanted something more, I wanted something for us to see all the time. So I devoted a wall to Disney memories, and began my search to fill it.

There is an artist named Larry Dotson, see his site here. Dotson makes beautiful paintings of many Disney things from DVC resorts, to the parks, to specific rides. Prints of his works are available throughout Disney.

N and I have been slowly creating a wall of Disney to brighten our home. It started when we first stayed at DVC on our honeymoon. We got a large print of the Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa, our home resort. Each time since, we get a print of the DVC that we stay at, currently our count is up to four. But only our home resort is big, the others are the smaller size.

On our last trip to Disney World we found that the Dotson had prints of the parks for sale in the parks. We grabbed our first one in the Animal Kingdom. Later that trip we headed to Epcot for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts. There, in the Norway pavilion, was a setup for Dotson. He was selling many of his prints which are not usually available in the parks. He was also signing art as desired. N and I grabbed a print of each of the parks, and we got the print of the Magic Kingdom signed.

We also picked up the DVC only print at the Festival of the Arts. I thought that would also be a nice touch to add to our wall. It helps that it is of our favorite princess.

My brother gave me a medal hanger for my birthday two years ago. N and I hang all of our medals there now, bar the first marathon medal that N got. That one hangs in the office in a shadowbox that I made for N to celebrate his first time finishing a marathon. I hope to make one for myself after I finish my first marathon one day soon, but for now, my medals hang on the hanger.

Finally as a centerpiece I bought a three picture Disney themed frame from Disney World last time. I plan to fill it with pictures from the last three years one picture from the trip we took with my parents, one of the four of us, and one from the trip we took with N’s parents. For now, it waits on the wall filled with stock photos.

I finally got all of the prints framed and put them up. As you can see they are not so straight and even, but they are up. They make us happy every time we pass them. And as they are in our upstairs hallway between our room and the kid’s rooms, we pass them a lot. Just another way for us to bring some pixie dust home to keep the magic alive.
