Yogurt Parfait

I recently found out from a friend about these cool parfait cups. The cup comes in 3 pieces, a 12 oz cup, a lid with no holes, and a 4 oz insert cup. The insert keeps items like granola dry, or dressing from mixing in. The solid lid means that it won’t leak. The cups are available for sale here.

There are a ton of different options for parfaits from breakfast to dessert. I decided to make yogurt parfaits for breakfast for N and me. They turned out great! I am very happy with how easy, tasty and healthy it was. Yogurt parfaits also come in numerous varieties. But they usually use three components, yogurt, fruit and granola. I chose to wing it instead of using a recipe. The varieties that will work are endless, so I am excited to try many fun varieties. As I said, I chose simple options and I explained each choice below.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
    • I chose vanilla for a smoother, slightly sweeter taste.
    • I also chose Chobani for a richer creamier texture.
  • 1/2 cup Fruit
    • I chose blueberries and strawberries for one and bananas and strawberries for the next.
    • I cut the strawberries into bite sized pieces to make it easier to eat.
  • 1 serving Granola (in my case it was 1/3 cup)
    • I picked a granola from the store based on the calorie count.

Instructions

Put 1/4 cup yogurt in the bottom of the cup. Place 1/4 cup of the fruit on top. Place another layer of the remaining yogurt. Place the remaining fruit. Put the serving of granola in the insert and place the insert in the cup. Cover and fridge for the next day’s breakfast or enjoy immediately.
